LINSPIRE

LINUX has been a subject of much discussion. Now we have the opportunity to learn more about it and "open-source" software. LINUX itself is not compatible with Windows applications such as Word, Excel, etc. Finding a way to provide that compatibility (or to provide suitable alternatives) has been a big challenge for LINUX proponents.

LINSPIRE is software that provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to make Linux seem like a Windows application. At this meeting we will see LINSPIRE demonstrated and gain practical knowledge how LINSPIRE can provide us access to other programs not normally usable in Windows.

Open to the public. No charge. Tell and bring friends.

Between 6:00 - 7:00 PM we have a Computer Forum, an informal Q&A where members and visitors share with and help one another. Notes from past forums.

All attendees are invited to attend a post-meeting get-together at Dinah's Diner
