LACS meeting categories:

General Meeting:
The
Los Angeles Computer Society
holds its General Meeting monthly on the 2nd Tuesday. It's
open to the public - no charge. The evening schedule is:
Computer Forum: 6:00 to 6:50 pm (before the main program). This
is an informal Q&A where members and visitors share with and help one
another. Notes on selected items discussed at past Forums are
published
here.
Main Program: 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The notice for the upcoming
meeting is on the home
page while notices for past meetings are published
here.
After Meeting: around 9:15 pm. Some of us go for a snack,
relax, discuss the evening's meeting and other things at
Dinah's Family Restaurant.

This is one of our most
active SIGs. Broad interest in digital imaging includes choosing
digital cameras, using them and transferring, editing, publishing
(e-mail and printing) pictures. Other topics include scanners, memory
modules, storing image files, burning pictures onto CDs and more.

Genealogy

Jamboree in Pasadena.

Hardware Clinic SIG
Day: 3rd Monday

A mixture of "clinic" and "show-and-tell".
Members bring "sick" computers and other devices for
diagnosis and sometimes, cures. Past topics have included building a
computer, adding hard drives, sound cards, memory and checking and
cleaning printers, monitors and other peripherals.

Luncheon SIG
Day: 1st Tuesday

General: Luncheon is served in a private room with seating at
large round tables. The restaurant specializes in Szechwan
and Mandarin cuisine.
Menu: Soup, appetizer, and five entrees: beef, chicken, shrimp,
and vegetable plus one additional dish. Also on menu:
rice, tea, and fortune cookies.
Cost: $11.00/person including tax & tip.
Join us for an hour or so of good company, wide ranging conversation,
and a delicious luncheon. Attendance ranges from 15 to 25
persons.

Location: Home of Dick Smith
At its monthly meeting, the Officers and Board of Directors plan and
manage LACS activities. LACS members are encouraged to attend and are
usually allowed to contribute to discussions or otherwise address the board.
