How Secure & Accessible is the Internet? Putting Research into Practice
John Heidemann, Professor and Project Leader at
University of Southern California/Information Sciences Institute
John Heidemann is a senior member of ACM and fellow of IEEE. He and his colleagues are studying how Internet processes and traffic data inform network reliability, security, protocols and critical services. With the support of the FCC and Department of Homeland Security, the research on IP addresses conducted thus far is enabling the Internet to reach large segments of our community with improved network reliability. The varied issues related to maintaining the Internet and utilizing its vast reach will also be discussed.
